What The Heck Is Face Yoga?

Face Yoga

Have you seen Sly Stallone’s body? Can your grandpa’s bod compete with his chiselled and firm body?

My guess is, “no”.

But if you are one of the lucky ones with a grandpa who takes his fitness seriously, then chances are you already know the benefits of exercising your body.

But you may be asking “how the heck does this have to do with face yoga?”

Well;

The face is part of the entire human anatomy, right?

And being that it is part of the human anatomy, it is supposed to have muscles, yeah?

So if it has muscles, don’t you think that they might need to be exercised to keep them firm?

Do you understand where I’m going with this?

Well if you don’t then let me first give you the information that your face does indeed have muscles, about 50 of them, and do you want to know what the kicker is?

They are barely used.

These muscles just sit on your face and do nothing or maybe a little when you are overly expressive with your face, but that’s just about it.

Now tell me, what usually happens when you don’t exercise your muscles?

They weaken and lose bulk which is the same thing that happens to your face when you age. Your face loses its firmness and plumpness making it easier for fine lines and wrinkles to appear.

So, what is face yoga, and how can it help your face retain its youth?

Face yoga is a chain of repetitive exercises you do on your face.

The goal of these exercises is to increase blood circulation in the face to help with the flow of oxygen.

Poor blood circulation can lead to uneven and blotchy skin. It can also cause premature aging.

So when you do face yoga, it helps your skin to look healthier and younger.

Face yoga also helps you release the tension caused by the strains from your facial expressions and tone up your facial muscles.

Lisa L. Kirchner for Greatist reported having experienced a difference in her face after 10 days. Also, a study cited by Good Housekeeping stated that its participants noticed an increase in fullness in their cheeks, making them look three years younger.

Amidst these positive reports about face yoga, what are the steps and techniques you need to follow to enjoy its benefits?

What are the steps to face yoga?

First things first, you need to moisturize your face to make it easy for your fingers to glide through your face. It also will help make your skin supple while doing the face yoga.

The perfect serum for this is the Revitalizing Serum from our Evio Beauty 3-Step Skin Set, which will reduce signs of aging as well as smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

Next is to do some warm-up exercises. Good Housekeeping advises that you make exaggerated raspberries with your mouth.

After you are done warming up, there are four main areas you must concentrate on your face, and they are:

  1. Your forehead – the perfect technique for fighting fine lines on your forehead is the FOREHEAD SMOOTHER.
  2. Your eyes – to wad off eye bags and crows feet, you need to do THE V or EYE FIRMER.
  3. Your cheeks – the CHEEK PLUMPER is your best bet at fighting the nasolabial folds forming on your face.
  4. Your neck – the skin on your neck is the thinnest and probably one of the first places to show real signs of aging, so you are going to have to do the GIRAFFE NECK to prevent that.

Just so you know, face yoga is a long game just like any fitness regimen. You are going to have to be willing to put in the work, be patient and continue working at it even when you have achieved your desired results.

So now you know all you need to know about face yoga, are you going to try it out?
